About Betty

As a child, I developed a love for cooking while I sat on the cabinet and watched Mother in the kitchen. She was always an excellent cook with a great interest in trying new recipes. That love for recipes was passed along to me. I read recipe books as other people read novels.

There is no better place to collect recipes than a church dinner. As a pastor’s wife, I have collected them from friends in every town where we have served. These recipes, along with old family favorites, are treasures to me, because they represent part of my history. The background details are included with some of these recipes and bring to mind the people, places and times when food was prepared and shared.
