Spirit Lemonade

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

“I made this lemonade recipe for the Dorcas Sunday School class when we were studying the Fruit of the Spirit.”

  • 1 large or 2 small lemons, sliced
  • 1 1/4 cups Real Lemon juice
  • 2 cups granulated sugar

Place sugar and lemons in a one-gallon container. Add lemon juice and enough water to make one gallon. Mix well to dissolve sugar. Refrigerate overnight. The lemonade can be made in advance and will keep well for up to three weeks. Chilling in the frig for a day or two helps improve the flavor.

“Frankie makes the strongest, sweetest, best southern iced tea of anyone I know. It is quite a ritual with him. He even rinses the ice in his glass before pouring his tea. Good stuff! I look forward to visiting in their home and having some sweet tea.”

  • 1 quart water
  • 3 small tea bags
  • 3/4 cup sugar

Boil the water, add tea bags and steep for 5 to 8 minutes. Add the sugar while the tea is hot.
